Situated in historic Bath Place with a unique mix of retail and private premises, Brendon Books & Maps is an independent bookshop established in 1984 with a reputation for a fast, friendly, efficient service. No enquiry is considered too big or too small and you are welcome to contact us for advice whether it is by email, telephone, fax, post or personal visit. Maps and travel are a speciality. We are Ordnance Survey Sub-Agents National Stockists and the only Ordnance Survey Approved Educational Supplier situated in the South West. Making a Purchase by Shopping Cart
When ordering from the catalogue of 250,000 titles, our special offers, local books or walking maps section.
When you have searched for the item you require and made your selection, click on Order and you will be asked for a few details that we need to satisfy the order. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch, Delta, Solo and American Express. Remember, your order is not complete until you are able to print a receipt for yourself.
If you prefer you can pay by credit card by faxing, telephoning or writing to us.
Other Purchases
Ordering large scale maps, out of print books and through our Any Book Order Service.
Except when it is a firm order, we will confirm availability and price by e-mail before going ahead with the order. You may e-mail, telephone or fax your credit card details or send a cheque or book tokens. Please note that if you e-mail your credit card details they will not be encrypted as when making a purchase by shopping cart. | |
Shipping And Handling
Goods collected from the shop are post free as is carriage of Ordnance Survey folded and laminated maps when ordered from the Ordnance Survey Walking & Touring section. School orders are delivered free within a 10 mile radius of Taunton.

Delivery Schedule
Standard Rate: Delivery in 2-3 days from stock. £2.95 for 1 or more items. i.e. if you order 10 books the carriage is still £2.95
Premium Rate: Delivery in 1-2 days from stock. £3.95 for 1 or more items i.e. if you order 10 books the carriage is still £3.95

Back Orders
When books or maps are not immediately available from stock or our quick supply chain, they take an average 10 working days. If there is going to be any undue delay we will tell you as soon as we can after the time of ordering. The longest delays are usually with books that are reprinting or on order from abroad. We will contact you with the option to cancel your order if you do not want to wait. | |
Tax Charges
There is no VAT on books or maps However, audio tapes, CD's and digital map data all carry VAT at £17.5%. | |
Credit Card Security
All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site. | |
Guarantee
If you are not happy with your purchase you may return the goods to us within 14 days of purchase. We will not refund the postage unless the goods are received damaged or faulty or if we have made an ordering error. The goods must also be received by us in good condition.
